Broadwater Farm recently acquired additional farmland and several houses. We will use much of the new land for grazing, but we are also seeking a farmer or farming couple to rent one of the houses along with sufficient adjoining acreage to create a new independent farming operation. Possible enterprises include specialty crops such as Asian vegetables, small fruits, and pastured poultry. Depending on the crop produced, a farmer might be able to sell to members of adjoining Charlestown Farm CSA and at the highly successful Phoenixville Farmers' Market which is 2 miles away.

The Farm is located in the highly ranked Great Valley School District in an affluent growing community ideally situated for suburban farming with easy access to the huge nearby Philadelphia market via the new PA Turnpike interchange in Great Valley just 2.5 miles to the south on Charlestown Road. The house is 21 miles as the crow flies from Center City Philadelphia which can be reached in 30 minutes depending upon traffic. The center of Phoenixville with its shops, historic theater and exciting restaurants and night life is 5 minutes away.

The house contains three bedrooms and two bathrooms and is currently undergoing renovations including installation of a new kitchen.

The property which includes a small equipment shed and chicken house will rent for $1700 per month.

If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity and seeing the property, please contact Liz Andersen at broadwaterfarm@gmail.com
